It’s All About MeMe: Kreativ Blogger Award

Kreative Blogger AwardSo my first Award and Meme (how DOES one pronounce that?) and I have to thank @octarinefire over at her Things ‘n’ Stuff blog for the honour of this award. If ‘thanks’ is indeed the word I am looking for!

So to obey the last two rules of three first (try and keep up), let me first tag and link to the following 10 blogs. Hopefully they have not already been tagged, but my head is so far up my proverbial sometimes I have no idea what is going on anywhere – not least the blogsphere. I award:

1. @cosmicgirlie over at MochaBeanieMummy.com. An awesome photographer and the brainchild behind #SilentSunday. Her photographs are breathtaking and, if she is not too rich and famous by the time I reach my 50th, she is the one I choose to photograph that mammoth event. See her photography blog here. When starting out, I remember also being very very moved by her honesty in writing about depression.

2. @nickie72 over at I Am Typecast. A seasoned blogger who impressed me with her generosity when I started out and the continuing help she gives to new and upcoming bloggers. Nickie does not hang on to status or information but shares it freely with newbies. I did not find this to be a common trait then or, sometimes, now with the Grand Dames of the blogsphere. I was encouraged to continue because of this wonderful woman. She is also the brainchild behind the magic and madness of the Twittersphere Quiz Night The Friday Twiz.

3. @MrLondonStreet. Not sure if he will accept the award, but I am prepared to say unreservedly that this man is one of the best writers I have ever come across. I read a lot; I write a lot; I know good writing and I know good authors and he is up there with the best of them. It is often breathtaking what this man can convey using words we all know; but he takes these same words and reorganizes them such that they are never short of amazing. MLS should be a published author. If I can help in that endeavor, I will certainly try. Catch his work over at his blog MrLondonStreet.com.

4.  @VivOyolu at Divine Communications Trust. As an advocate of young people myself, the work at this social enterprise deserves recognition. Education, resources and programmes to improve the life chances of the young (in and out of the workspace) and inspiring work in mentoring young fathers.

5. @SBMarketingUKSmall Business Marketing UK – run by Steve Bunyan. A truly honest and helpful online business expert. Not only does he know his stuff about “SEO that and better blog this”, he is that rare oxymoron – ethical business.

6. @TomBriggs79 at Diary of the Dad is a relative newbie. What I read of his writing made me laugh and this mention is also in recognition of some of the scenes he described Richard Digance-esque. Showing my age, but what the hell!

7. @Clairelouise82 over at A Boy With Asperger’s.  A subject about which I know only a little, but ASD here is made accessible and understandable. I particularly like Claire’s world view on the many wonderful things to be embraced within the ASD world. Well worth a visit especially if there were things you wanted to know but were too afraid or embarrassed to ask. Claire’s your gal. Conversely, just go over and be educated. That’s what I did/do.

8. @chaoskay over at The Brink of Bedlham. Anyone who worries that a post might backfire, but prints anyway can have a place at my dinner table anytime. Kay first came to my notice with her post about the validity (or otherwise) of blogging awards. Being a ‘publish and be damned’ kinda gal myself her gesture resonated.

9. @blacksnob over at, what else, her blog The Black Snob. A delicious ball of wit, irreverence and intellect on pop culture and pretentiousness.  Danielle also does that near impossible thing of making American politics understandable – albeit in her own inimitable way!

10. @MouthyHousewife (all four of them!) as they speak to the side of me which cannot be denied. Mouthy, opinionated, sarcastic and damned funny. A must on anyone’s blogroll who like their humour sassy. Catch them at The Mouthy Housewives.

So to the last rule – 10 things about me?

“Mrs Speaks? I’m afraid our time is up.”
